LT RoHS / RoHS2 & RoHS3

                          EU Directives 2002/95/EC, 2011/65/EU & 2015/863/EU

The RoHS Directives stand for the “restriction of the use of certain hazardous
substances in electrical and electronic equipment”. These directives ban the placing
on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than
agreed levels of certain hazardous substances. The RoHS Directive, EU Directive
2002/95/EC, which came into effect from the 1st of July 2006 in Europe & further
revised with the RoHS 2 Directive 2011/65/EU, and RoHS 3 Directive 2015/863/EU,
mandates that electrical and electronic products, (EEE) traded within the EU market
place shall contain restrictive levels of the following substances:

        • Lead (Pb)
        • Cadmium (Cd)
        • Mercury (Hg)
        • Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6+)
        • Polybrominated Biphenyl (PBB)
        • Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE)
        • Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phtalate (BBP)
        • Dibutyl phtalate (DBP)
        • Diisobutyl phtalate (DIBP)

This directive, which aims to protect human health and the environment and mirrors
the WEEE directive, applies to electrical and electronic equipment that is dependent
on electric or electromagnetic fields in order to work properly. It also applies to some
equipment used for the generation, transfer and measurement of such currents and
fields designed for use with a voltage rating not exceeding 1,000 Volts for alternating
current (AC) and 1,500 Volts for direct current (DC).

The RoHS/WEEE directives do not call for a total elimination of these substances.
They mandate that all compliant products or materials that cannot be mechanically
disjointed must not contain any of the restricted substances above the maximum
        concentration levels.

Louth Transformer Company attempts to design around
the problem by using materials that comply with the RoHS/
RoHS 2 directives. We ensure this by seeking datasheets &
written confirmation from our suppliers, that the restricted
substances are not contained in any of our raw materials
        above the specified levels.
