LT CONFLICT MINERAL POLICY
Louth Transformer Company is aware of the legislation in the United States of
America regarding what is termed “Conflict Minerals” and although the law relates
at this time to only the USA, we have sought confirmation from our suppliers that
none of their materials contain any minerals from The Democratic Republic of Congo
(DRC), or the adjoining countries of Angola, Burundi, The Central African Republic,
Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia, which all have concerns regarding
revenues obtained from the mining and transport of certain minerals.
Some mines are controlled by armed groups and may involve human rights abuses,
forced child labour, and violence. Sales of these “Conflict Minerals” offer financial
support to these organisations.
The Conflict Minerals specified are:
• Columbite-Tantalite (coltan) refined into Tantalum (Ta)
• Cassiterite refined into Tin (sn)
• Wolframite refined into Tungsten (w)
• Gold (Au)
We can confirm that Louth Transformer Company do not purchase any products
containing Conflict Minerals for the manufacture of our transformers. We do not
routinely audit our supplier’s declarations, but do periodically request the latest
statement. We will continue to work with our supplier base to help to ensure that
only products containing “Conflict Free” minerals are supplied to our company.
