IP RATINGS EXPLAINED
International Standard IEC 60529 uses IP ratings to classify the level of protection provided by electrical appliances
to the ingress of solid objects, dust, accidental contact and water. The first digit indicates the level of protection
provided against solid foreign objects while the second digit indicates the level of protection against water.
